Thich Nhat Hanh does something I love by placing the phrase ‘bell of mindfulness’ throughout his books. I have chosen to sprinkle his words throughout this newsletter as a reminder to come back to your breath. When you see these words, take a moment and breathe in and watch the in breath, breathe out and watch the out breath.
I feel like it is time to reach out and share with you so I decided to put together this newsletter. I hope you enjoy and are able to come to my new Pop Up classes over the next two weeks. I will be adding three classes per week.
Please don’t read this in your car, at stop signs or skim over it quickly while multi-tasking. Wait until you have some space to rest and be still. Make a cup of tea, get comfortable, take a few deep breaths and feel the earth under you. Then take your time reading this as you stay present with your breath.
As most of you know I have been ‘softening’ lately. Don’t worry, I am not softening too much; I will always teach my yummy, sweaty, challenging workouts. 🙂 But I would like to offer more than just that, because I am more than just that.
Many of us have begun to need different things for our bodies. As we grow life brings us new experiences (bell of mindfulness) and we find ourselves seeking a deeper sense of calm, ease and well-being. I am continuing to expand and deepen into my work more than ever before and my clients are showing me what they need; not to my surprise, we are mirroring each other.
I am finding a great calling for this gentle, soft and still energy to be integrated into my work on a daily basis. As I am coming upon my 30th year of teaching, I realize I can no longer stay in the mold of who I once was; I am spreading my wings and soaring into stillness.
Over the past few years I have been working for Engage and teaching my Soft Yoga classes and Mindful meditation classes to a very special community of at North Hollywood Senior Arts Colony. (bell of mindfulness) I have learned so much from my work with these lovely humans and it has led me to this place I am now.
I am starting with a few Pop Up classes at the moment. I am touched by the responses I have gotten to adding these classes. It seems this work is needed and wanted by most but we don’t know where to go. So much of what is offered in our world is the Effort, including my workout class, and I would like to balance that with more of the Effort Less; the stillness and the quiet.
I hope you can soften with me as we move into this new expansion together. Who knows where it will take us…let’s find out.
Bring your loved ones; all are welcome.
Please RSVP to the classes (bell of mindfulness) by emailing me directly at dove@dovesbodies.com.
