Spend $1.00 at a national chain store and 80% of it leaves town immediately.
Thank you for supporting local businesses and contributing to a sustainable economy within our community.
I hope you are doing well. I have been a very busy little birdie lately. It must be the heat because I cannot stop creating, and dreaming, and planning, and studying, and learning, and… I have felt such a resurgence lately and I am quite grateful. The grieving process I have been in for the last five years, since my Mother’s death, has continued to expand my awareness and my ability to be present; even when it is being present with the sadness, depression, and heaviness. I feel like I have turned a corner as of late and I am enjoying the wave I am on right now, knowing full well that at any moment I can be upside down again; but that’s okay. I don’t mind the ride–I am able to be present with it.
Some of my new energy has been spent coming up with innovative things for us to do in class and with my private clients. I have been having so much fun incorporating new props into our workouts and focusing on different modalities of fitness to continue to challenge us all to be deeply connected with our bodies and be fit, healthy and flexible in our approach to wellness and Self-care. Most of my class is incorporating brain fitness as well. We are deepening our awareness of space, balance, coordination, breath, and agility. I call it Fitness Sudoku. 🙂 (more on that later)
If you haven’t been to class in a while I encourage you to pop back in to see what we have been up to. 🙂
Another one of my passions is finding products that I personally connect with and I think you will love. My second love has always been my research and product discovery program. Since 1991 my Mother and I have been finding organic, mindful, and conscious products to share with our clients. I research each company before I purchase their products. I make sure I not only like the product but I want to support the company and I believe in what they are doing. I try to only support small companies, especially Mom & Pop businesses like mine. I always have you in mind when I am out in the world discovering new finds. I always test everything first to make sure I still love it after a few months or so and then I share it with you.
I know most of us have busy schedules and might not have the time to shop in the boutique at the studio so I felt this would be a nice opportunity to allow you to browse some of my favorite new items and a few old staples I continue to love even after all these years. All items are also available for shipment if you are not in the area. I hope you find something you like as much as I do. Keep these items in mind for presents for loved ones or a treat for yourself.
PS
Check out my new website. I chose to make some changes since I am continuing to evolve and expand it seems only right for my website to do so as well. Enjoy!
Peace
Love,
Dove
I love brain games and anything mentally challenging and stimulating. So when I found this I knew it would be a ‘fit’ in my approach to brain fitness and holistic wellness. When I was a child I went to a Maria Montessori school and a Highland Hall school so the wood materials used for these games feel like home to me. Why shouldn’t the games we play be organic too?
ColorKu is SUDOKU in COLOR! ColorKu also allows you to solve any SUDOKU puzzle using color! Start with one of the 104 puzzle cards, then get one of each color in every row, in every column, and in every 3 x 3 box. Each puzzle has but one correct solution. Each puzzle card starts with a designated number of “clues” telling which marbles to place where on the board. It’s your task then to fill in the rest of the board with the rest of the marbles in a way that you have only one of each color in each row, each column, and each box .
The American Alzheimer’s Association has endorsed Sudoku as a “brain game” that might help reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s disease, and some researchers believe that playing mentally stimulating games and puzzles like Sudoku might be a good way to reduce our risk of dementia as we get older.
These games brings a sense of calm and order. Helps your brain stay healthy and provides fun for all ages. Helps improve patience and concentration. Increases sharpness and strategy while approaching and solving problems since you need to be assessing while making choices. Provides a sense of accomplishment on completing the game. I think you will love this game! Great for all ages and skill levels.

I just played this with my husband for the first time and we are hooked. It is by far the best game I have ever played. The planning that is involved in this game insane, my brain hurt…in a good way. I cannot recommend this enough.
Tic Tac Ku is a MENSA Select Award Winner for 2009. It is like Tic Tac Toe, except you play in 9 different playing zones at the same time, and each player controls where and how the other can and must play. It is for 2 or 4 players. It also consists of the wood playing board, 81 wood marbles in three different color combinations ( Blue and White, Green and White, and Red and White) It is a great game of logic and strategic planning.
$33 (including tax)
Their newest game, and very popular now, is 22 Ku-du. It is a math crossword game consisting of 109 wood tiles ( a little larger and thicker than a scrabble tile) Each person is working on their own crossword at the same time, with the purpose being to make as many 22’s as possible, quickly, using one or all of the four math functions of addition, subtraction, multiplication or division! The game is very easily adaptable to all math skill levels.. and, for example, a parent could be required to use two or three math functions in each 22, while your 5 year old may only have to add… it is great fun for old and young! It comes in a brightly colored cotton canvas bag so it is fast, portable, and fun.

If you have been in class lately you know my latest obsession with my weighted hula hoops. The benefits are endless and it is so much fun! I love using them for the deeper work they do: lymphatic drainage, increase circulation, balance hormones, decrease belly fat, increase concentration and coordination, stimulate the brain…and so much more.
Burn as many calories as aerobics or running and have TWICE AS MUCH FUN, up to 210 calories in 30 minutes. The hoop, weighing 3lbs, is an exhilarating total body, yet low-impact, workout that will shake up your fitness routine. This hoop features transferrable weight— mix and match weighted and non-weighted sections to create three different workouts. Creative, fluid movement reshapes your waist, builds power in your core, and gets your heart rate up.
Now you can practice at home and the entire family can get in on it!

I love herbal tea; I drink it all the time. I am not a coffee drinker and live a caffeine-free life so when I find a tea I love I like to share it with those I love. These are my three favorites and I hope you like them too.
Pacific Mint is a blend of organic spearmint and organic peppermint domestically grown and harvested on the picturesque Oregon and California coasts.
Brûlée Mint tea is a whimsical herbal blend that offers a naturally sweet treat with hints of mint and a creamy finish reminiscent of peach cobbler.
Organic, Fair Trade Egyptian Chamomile helps to ease the mind and soothe the soul. This is lovely with a little honey and some frothed milk.

I can’t say enough about how much I love Dandy Blend. I love eating and drinking things that are not only delicious but are actually doing something positive for my health and well-being. This is my all-time favorite drink in any weather, it can be made hot or iced and is an acquired taste but if you acquire it then you are one of the lucky ones…and this is why:
* It tastes remarkably like a rich, full-bodied cup of coffee, no brewing, dissolves instantly in hot or cold liquid.
* It is non GMO
* It is caffeine free, and has no acidity or bitterness. It is the only herbal coffee substitute in the US that features both the health benefits of dandelion root and the rich, full-bodied flavor, smoothness and texture of real coffee. Many say that, because it lacks bitterness and acidity, it actually tastes better than coffee.
* It is made of water-soluble extracts of roasted roots of dandelion, chicory and beets, and the grains of barley and rye. Nothing else is added. While we make no claims for Dandy Blend other than that it is a delicious herbal beverage with the taste, body, and texture of coffee, the ingredients – dandelion, chicory and beet roots, and barley and rye grains – are all health-promoting foods respected throughout the world.
* It contains no gluten. Gluten, which is comprised of proteins that are not water-soluble, is left behind in the grounds to be composted during the extracting process, leaving Dandy Blend gluten-free.
* The sweetness some perceive in Dandy Blend is primarily from the fructose that occurs naturally in the roots of dandelion and chicory. Many people require no additional sweeteners.
* It contains over 50 trace minerals in each cup, most of which the body uses to help synthesize compounds needed in metabolism.
* There are no headaches or other withdrawal symptoms when switching from coffee to Dandy Blend. It is like switching from one brand of coffee to another. Most people generally can’t tell that they aren’t drinking coffee.
Dandelion root is what makes Dandy Blend unique and so much better that it stands out from all other options available. It is the only instant coffee alternative in the United States that contains dandelion root. To Americans, dandelion may be considered a weed, but to people all over the world it is a valued vegetable and highly respected herbal medicine. It is one of the top six herbs in the Chinese medicine chest.
If your doctor or health practitioner has recommended that you give up coffee, and/or add dandelion to your diet, Dandy Blend is by far the easiest way to do that AND still continue enjoying the flavor and texture of a good “cuppa joe” at the same time.
If you own a computer or a smart phone, or a car or are a human you might want one of these. I am always on the lookout for innovative products to aid the body in lymphatic drainage, increase circulation, release tight muscles, assist the facia tissue to lay on the body properly and simply feel good. (I am one of those people who likes how it feels, call me crazy) This firm mini foam roller is great for massaging your wrists, palms, forearms, quads & feet! Keep it on your desk, toss it in your bag – your roller will be ready when you are! 1.5″ in diameter and 5.75″ tall.
$17 (including tax)
Skoy cloths are another of my favorite finds, I have been using them for ages. The Skoy Cloth is an innovative cloth that takes the place of your paper towels, sponges, rags, dishcloths and more. It is a European made product and 100% biodegradable when properly composted because it is made from a natural cotton and wood-based cellulose pulp. The Skoy Cloth is a chlorine-free, unbleached, and non-GMO product using water-based colors and inks. After an independent composting test, Skoy Cloth broke down completely within 5 weeks.
The Skoy Cloth is a durable product due to the reusability factor and can last months. Using a Skoy Cloth is equivalent to using 15 rolls of paper towels in an average home. With the high cost of paper towels, as much as $3 per roll, Skoy Cloth is the obvious choice for your wallet and the environment.
The Skoy Cloth has an absorption factor of 15x its own weight. As a result, producing the most superior cloth product available. Imagine using 15 sheets of good-quality paper towels at once…this is how a wet Skoy Cloth will feel in your hand.
The Skoy Cloth is long-lasting because of the wash-ability feature. It dries quickly, so it is not a breeding ground for bacteria. It is dishwasher and washer/dryer safe. Cleaning your Skoy Cloth will keep it healthy and germ-free.
The factory that makes the Skoy cloth is aware of the responsibility for handling its resources carefully. They use renewable raw materials such as cellulose (derived from wood), and cotton to produce their Skoy cloths. They have invested heavily in developing and implementing an integrated environmental recycling and disposal facility in which the economical use of energy and water is first and foremost. Production by-products are purified and recycled as far as possible within the process. Regeneration baths are returned to production by an evaporation process. Wastewater is treated at the site’s biological wastewater purification plants. This environmental concept is at the vanguard of operations-related environmental policy and has resulted in our factory becoming a reference company throughout the industry. This is the kind of company I want to support. Don’t you?

Take a moment and notice your breath. Is it deep, shallow, silent, audible? Can you sense your breath in your body? Do you notice the rise and fall of your breath, is there movement in your body as you breathe? Is there a pause at the end of each part of your breath? Can you sense the air as it passes through your nostrils or your tongue? Create a relationship with your breath. Notice the life source that is flowing through you in this moment. Be present with the now. Inquire within. Find your way in with your breath as your guide.
